Communications and postal policy planning department
To develop communications and postal policies and programmes, introduce and adopt advanced technologies related to radio frequency and space communications, provide general policy guidance and coordinate its implementation.
Duties of the Department:
Planning of mid and short term policy of communications and postal sector, development and implementation of policy, programme, projects and standards, allocation of technical and facility resources of the sector, planning of network infrastructure including disaster risk management network, management of ICT services accessibility, activities towards to decrease digital divide, and planning and coordination of effective and proper use of national radio frequency spectrum, as well as its fair and rational allocation.
Duties of Space Communications Division under the Department:
To coordinate implementation of National Satellite Programme, adopt advanced space technologies, set up bandwidth network combining terrestrial and space resources and manage the use of feasibility study data and results at national level.
