Session of the National ICT Policy Council was held
The first Session of the National ICT Policy Council was held on 15 Dec, 2017 and discussed on drafting of regulation, implementation of foreign aid projects and programmes, next year activity planning and its future goals.
Mr. Zandanshatar, Minister of Mongolian Government, Chief of Cabinet Secretariat of Prime Minister and Head of the Council noted that digitalization of public services gives an opportunity to save time and human resources, as well as to eliminate corruption and bureaucracy and to deliver transparent and open services to citizens.
He emphasized that government agencies implement number of ICT projects and programmes by national and international aid and loan, but lack of coherence between the projects and integrated policy planning still existing.
Therefore, it is recommended to all ministries and agencies to inform progress of the current ICT projects and programmes to the Communications and Information Technology Authority and to get their comments in case of implementation of new projects.
Within the framework of e-governance development in Mongolia, number of projects and programmes were implemented such as establishment of National Data Center, expansion of national backbone network to soums level, creation of 11-11 center, launching of kiosk machines and development of public key infrastructure as well as establishment of XYP data exchange platform among government organizations.
In the near future, the Government of Mongolia is aimed at intensifying the implementation of government resolutions and decisions on e-government, developing public electronic communications, solving issues related with online payments of public services, enhancing usage of digital signatures and creating integrated addressing system to improve postal service accessibility.
